NCPTA is the state's oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for the education, health, safety and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities.
PTAs across North Carolina impact more than 685,000 children and their families. The NCPTA is affiliated with the National PTA whose mission is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. NCPTA had 112,211 members for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019. NCPTA accomplishments during the year included advocating for NC's families at the PTA Day at the legislature; creating a focus on "reimagining school meals" to increase support of school meals and increase understanding of school meal nutrition standards; providing back-to-school training sessions for school leadership; hosting an annual convention with workshops aimed at benefitting the membership in attendance; working at various initiatives to improve our schools and communities such as the effort to engage families in STEM activities.
