Organizations Filed Purposes:
Parents for Educational Freedom in NC advocates for quality educational options through parental school choice. Our mission is to ENGAGE at the grassroots level, EDUCATE NC about the options in our state, and EMPOWER families to have a voice in their childrens education.
PEFNC was instrumental in the passage of the Children with Disabilities Grant, the Opportunity Scholarship program and the Educational Savings Account. The goal of PEFNC is to ultimately create more quality educational options for families in the state of North Carolina.
PEFNC leveraged its relationship with the media to further engage the public and promote a wide array of issues related to the parental school choice.
PEFNC has prepared education leaders to start and maintain high quality public charter schools in the states rural and under served counties. The NC Public Charter School Accelerator program was lanched by PEFNC in 2012.
