Great is a partnership of citizens that addresses the health, social, economic, educational and recreational needs of Graham County residents while preserving our cultural heritage and natural resources and instilling pride in our community and place.
GREAT IS SERVING AS THE FISCAL AGENT FOR PROJECT FUNDS TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION SERVICES FOR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH CRISIS SERVICES OFFERED TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO STUDENTS THROUGH GROUP, INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY THERAPY. GROUP THERAPY SESSIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED. 324 STUDENTS WERE SERVED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.
FUNDS ARE PROVIDED TO THE GRAHAM COUNTY DIABETES COALTION FOR PREVENTION AND DIABETES MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES. LIGHTING THE WAY TO A WALKING COMMUNITY PROJECTS IS CONCENTRATING ON THE SHORT-TERM GOAL OF IMPROVING EXISTING WALKING/BIKE TRAILS. THE LONG-RANGE PLAN IS TO BUILD AN CONNECT GREENWAYS/TRAILS TO EXISTING TRAILS THROUGHOUT THE ROBBINSVILLE AREA.
GRAHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS GREENWAY PROJECT IS A COMPONENT OF CURRENT REVITALIZATION EFFORTS BEING UNDERTAKEN BY THE TOWN OF ROBBINSVILLE. FUNDS WERE USED TO DEVELOP A 2.8 MILE GREENWAY SYSTEM THAT IS ON THE CAMPUS OF ROBBINSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.
