TO PROVIDE EDUCATION, LIFE SKILLS, SOCIAL SKILLS, AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING TO YOUTHFUL OFFENDERS AND POTENTIAL OFFENDERS, WHILE IMPROVING THEIR FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS.
JOHNSTON COUNTY YOUTH SERVICES PROVIDES INNOVATIVE ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL SKILLS PROGRAMMING TO STUDENTS WHO ARE INVOLVED IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM, OR AT RISK FOR SUCH INVOLVEMENT, THROUGH FIVE COMPONENTS THAT SERVE OVER 75 YOUTH AND FAMILIES EACH YEAR. JCYS IS UNIQUE IN THAT IT IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN THE COUNTY THAT PROVIDES AN ALTERNATIVE ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT FOR SUSPENDED, ADJUDICATED YOUTH, THUS ALLOWING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR PROMOTION IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY IN THE CASE OF LONG-TERM SUSPENSIONS.
