The Carousel Centers mission is to support healing, promote justice, and foster resilience in children victimized by physical or sexual abuse and to improve the community through education, prevention and advocacy. The Carousel Center vision is to build resiliency in children to strengthen the community.
In FY 2019-2020, Carousel served 467 unduplicated child abuse survivors and their non-offending adult caregivers - through 302 forensic/medical evaluations (nearly 1,000 hours provided), and 350 family advocacy contacts (over 600 hours provided). 226 children engaged in over 1,300 trauma therapy services - regardless of insurance, economic status, or ability to self-pay. Carousel's primary function is assisting our community to hold the child predators accountable for their actions, while simultaneously assisting these child survivors to do the hard work of healing, so they can just get back to being kids. In just the last few years, our community CONVICTED child predators for sentences totaling over 4 life sentences!
