Organizations Filed Purposes:
Phoenix Employment Services, Inc. (dba StepUp Wilmington) seeks to empower individuals to reach their potential and lead stable lives through satisfying work. StepUp Wilmington's vision is to create a community of prosperity and hope.
During 2019/20, 419 participants were served in StepUp Wilmington's Job Program resulting in 239 jobs placed. StepUp Wilmington's Job Program is designed to teach and empower participants with the skills and strategies needed for finding employment. It begins with Jobs Week, a 32-hour, week long training workshop that teaches job seekers the skills needed to find and maintain employment, and continues in Step2, a 9 month Life Skills program. Step2 is for adult participants who have obtained employment and their children. The goal is stability in all aspects of life over the long term. Once weekly, adults attend workshops to learn skills focused on measurably improving their overall stability.
