Organizations Filed Purposes: The YMCA of Southeastern NC (YMCA of SENC) is an inclusive non-profit association committed to putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Our staff and volunteers work together every day to strengthen our community and to support people and neighborhoods that need it most through community programs, services and outreach. Our efforts fall into three areas of focus: Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

YMCA of SENC programs reach over 20,000 kids a year. After School, Pre- School, Adventure Guides, Summer Day Camps, Youth Basketball (Halo Hoops), Cape Fear Athletic Swim Club, Swim Lessons, Extended Learning Day Camp, Partnered with New Hanover County Schools to deliver more than 60,000 meals to children and families over the summer - Y Youth Programs are key to ensuring our kids have positive environments and safe spaces in which to learn; encouraging, nurturing counselors and coaches to support them as they develop strength and skills through sports; and schedules that allow for quiet moments as well as field trips or week long camp adventures. Our Youth Programs have expanded into 5 North Carolina counties - through partnerships with over 100 churches and schools we reach people where they are. In 2020 over $55,000 was given in financial aid for youth programs, ensuring that everyone who wants to be part of our Y family can be.

A healthy lifestyle should be accessible to everyone. In 2020, over $150,000 was given to Y Members who needed financial assistance. Y Membership includes free access to all organization facilities, over 100 group exercise classes per week, use of cardio and strength equipment, child care, pool access, wellness orientation, access to wellness staff, monthly newsletters and discounts on all Y programs. We offer Virtual Wellness classes to the community, racquetball, pickleball, basketball, water aerobics/fitness/Zumba, swim lessons, a wide range of yoga, pilates and barre classes, seated strength and cardio Classes,BODYPUMP, kickboxing, hip hop (and more) making sure members stay involved. Our community depends on the Y and counts on the fact that we are consistent, stable and safe. Old and new friendships contribute to an overall sense of wellbeing.

As an organization we take Social Responsibility to heart. Thousands of volunteers play a key role in our success, working on various committees and advisory boards, coaching sports teams, working on our Annual Fundraising Campaign (so we can provide financial assistance to those in need), helping with special events and more. We offer programs and opportunities for those among us who are older, working for better health, or just trying to maintain. Population Health Programs (Blood Pressure Monitoring, Diabetes Prevention, Geri-Fit, Moving for Better Balance, Pedal for Parkinson's) and LiveStrong (for cancer survivors) allow anyone an opportunity to honor their mind, body and spirit at the Y. In 2020 we received over $1,800,000 from private donors, local Corporations and Foundations interested in supporting Y programs, departments and branches.
