Organizations Filed Purposes:
Assist pregnancy care centers. The purpose of the organization is to provide training, consultations, exchanging ideas, and inter-agency networking, and opportunities for social interaction to pregnancy care centers, maternity homes and adoption agencies in North Carolina.
Medical Clinic Project Special Appropriations Grant between the State of North Carolina, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health and Carolina Pregnancy Care Fellowship.NCDHHS provided funding to Carolina Pregnancy Care Fellowship, aka as CPCF, to purchase durable medical equipment for clinics and provide training to pregnancy center clinics on the use of the durable equipment (ultrasound machines). In 2019 15 ultrasound machines were purchased, installed and delivered to various pregnancy centers in NC at the cost of $430,568. Other various medical durable equipment such as exam tables, probe caddys, and mobile stands were purchased and delivered to 14 pregnancy centers at the cost of $22,717. As per the Special Appropriations grant provisions allowed for funds to be used for ultrasound training. 15 pregnancy centers hosted trainings in 2019 at the cost of $72,840. Several trainings were comprised of attending nurses from several pregnancy centers from North Carolina. $13,145 was used for administrative costs that include personnel, travel, supplies, postage and Federal Express, as well as phone, internet and required audit fees.
Maternal Health Grant, a block grant between the State of North Carolina, Department of Health and Human Services, a Division of Public Health and Carolina Pregnancy Care Fellowship. In 2019 there were 33 pregnancy centers that participated in the North Carolina Maternal Health Block Grant. Each pregnancy center submitted a budget that was approved by NCDHHS. Pregnancy centers purchased items based on their NC State approved budget. Items or services varied between pregnancy centers using various account lines. Examples of items purchased were maternal health client related curriculum, staff development events, various training costs, advertising, medical clinic and office supplies and materials, IT and office equipment, incentives for clients such as baby clothing, baby furniture or equipment, diapers and many other baby items. The Maternal Health Grant reimbursed CPCF for administrative costs as well as pregnancy center purchases.
Fall Conference Provided an environment in which networking, program support, training/workshops, consultation and facilitated inter-agency networking across the State of NC. Each NC pregnancy center or maternity home participant impacted their own pregnancy center or organization. Fall Conference agencies in attendance in 2019 there were 34 organizations with 123 individuals.24/7 Dads Leader Training Onsite 16, remotely 10.Carolina Pregnancy Center Conference 27 Pregnancy Centers/61 Participants.Medical Clinic Issues Training 35 Pregnancy Centers/65 Participants.Mental Health First Aid 3 locations, 17 Pregnancy Centers/52 Participants.
