Organizations Filed Purposes:
SMC FORMED TO RESTORE, MAINTAIN, AND PROMOTE PRIMITIVE TRAILS IN THE SISKIYOU BACKCOUNTRY AND TO PROVIDE OUTDOOR SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PUBLIC. WE COORDINATE STEWARDSHIP PROJECTS, LEAD OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AND PUBLISH USEFUL INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC.
We led over 12 volunteer events, coordinating approximately 2,500 hours of volunteer labor contributed to the Rogue River-Siskiyou, Six Rivers, and Klamath national forests. We also provided direct outreach to community members, providing education on the history of our public lands.
Our Wilderness Conservation Corps restored and maintained approximately 85 miles of trails in the Rogue River-Siskiyou, Six Rivers, and Klamath national forests. The crew of interns received comprehensive job training opportunities and built an educational portfolio to document their experience.
Our professional trail crew maintained approximately 35 miles of trails in coordination with our partners at the Rogue River-Siskiyou, Six Rivers, and Klamath national forests.
