THE MISSION OF AGE + US IS TO EMPOWER COMMUNITIES OF ALL AGES TO VALUE AND CARE FOR OLDER ADULTS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE ISOLATED, POOR AND UNDERSERVED. TO ACHIEVE THIS PURPOSE THE ORGANIZATION WILL 1) PROVIDE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND ADVICE TO INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS ABOUT ISSUES RELATED TO AGING POPULATIONS; 2) ANALYZE GOVERNMENTAL POLICIES AND THE IMPACT OF LEGISLATION AND REGULATION THAT AFFECT INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS RELATED TO THE AGING POPULATION; 3) RESEARCH, PREPARE, REVIEW AND EDIT POSITION PAPERS AND ARTICLES TO EDUCATE INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS RELATED TO ISSUES OF AGING; AND 4) DEVELOP PROGRAMS AND SERVICES BASED ON IDENTIFIED NEEDS FOR INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITITES RELATED TO AGING POPULATIONS.

BUILD AND STRENGTHEN CAPACITY OF COMMUNITIES TO BETTER SERVE LOW INCOME OLDER ADULTS IN OREGON BY ACCOMPLISHING THE FOLLOWING:1. BEGAN DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW MODEL OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND SERVICES FOR LOW INCOME OLDER ADULTS IN THE COLUMBIA GORGE AREA, RURAL CLACKAMAS AND CENTRAL OREGON. 2. LAUNCHED CIRCLES OF CARE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN RURAL WASCO CO OR TO ADDRESS NEEDS OF OLDER ADULTS WITH VARIOUS SERVICES SUCH AS TRANSPORTATION, YARD WORK, GROCERY SHOPPING, MINOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR, ETC.3. REVAMPED THE LEAP (LIFE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY PROGRAM) FOR ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENTS TO INCLUDE A NEW WEBSITE, NEW TOOLS FOR COORDINATORS AND VALUABLE CONTENT. 4. LAUNCHED WEBSITE AND ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP FOR THE TIES THAT BIND PROGRAM FOR GRANDPARENTS AND KINSHIP CAREGIVERS RAISING CHILDREN THAT FILLS THE UNMET NEED FOR TRAINING, PEER SUPPORT AND RESOURCES DEDICATED TO THIS AUDIENCE. 5. PARTICIPATED IN COALITION BUILDING EFFORTS AMONG METRO AREAS SERVICE PROVIDERS TO EXPAND AWARENESS AND RESOURCES FOR LOW INCOME OLDER ADULTS.
INCREASE AWARENESS AND SUPPORT FOR VERY LOW INCOME ADULTS IN OREGON BY ACCOMPLISHING THE FOLLOWING:1. PRODUCED ANNUAL AGELESS AWARDS EVENT TO HONOR THE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS OF OLDER ADULTS 75 AND OLDER.2. COLLABORATED ON PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION OF FOUR WHITEPAPERS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE EXPECTED DRAMATIC CHANGES IN OREGON'S AGE STRUCTURE, THE LACK OF FINANCIAL SECURITY AMONG THE GROWING POPULATION OF OLDER ADULTS, THE HEALTHCARE NEEDS OF OLDER ADULTS, AND THE HOUSING NEEDS OF OLDER ADULTS.
