Organizations Filed Purposes: NCEF RAISES COMMUNITY FUNDS TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN NORTH CLACKAMAS SCHOOL DISTRICT (NCSD) FUNDING AND THE UNMET NEEDS OF ITS STUDENTS. ITS MISSION IS TO ENSURE NCSD STUDENTS ARE ENGAGED IN SCHOOL AND READY TO LEARN. KEY INVESTMENT AREAS INCLUDE FAMILY SUPPORT, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, TEACHER GRANTS AND COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS.

BRIDGING THE GAP TO ENSURE STUDENTS ARE ENGAGED AND READY TO LEARN.

GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS: TEACHER AND CLASSROOM ENHANCEMENT GRANTS: 17 GRANTS WERE AWARDED TO NORTH CLACKAMAS EDUCATORS TO FUND INNOVATIVE PROJECTS AND TECHNOLOGY. PROJECTS INCLUDED A SUICIDE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAM, A DRUMLINE PROGRAM BENEFITTING BOTH MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, A CODING CLUB, ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY, CLASSROOM LIBRARIES AND SPECIAL TOPIC NOVELS, SOCIAL LEARNING TOOLS AND MORE. THESE PROJECTS IMPACTED MORE THAN 4,000 STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12 IN THE NORTH CLACKAMAS SCHOOL DISTRICT. 30 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO GRADUATING NORTH CLACKAMAS SENIORS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AT FOUR-YEAR UNIVERSITIES, TWO-YEAR COMMUNITY COLLEGE OR TRADE SCHOOL.

FUNDS WERE PROVIDED TO THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER, EMERGENCY HOUSING FUND, LUNCH BUDDY MENTOR PROGRAM, AND BACKPACK BUDDIES PROGRAM IN ORDER TO SUPPORT STUDENTS AND FAMILIES IN NEED. THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER PROVIDES ESSENTIAL SUPPORT SUCH AS FOOD, CLOTHING, HYGIENE ITEMS, AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO STRUGGLING FAMILIES. THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER ALSO OVERSEES AN EMERGENCY HOUSING PROGRAM THAT SUPPLIES FAMILIES IN THE NORTH CLACKAMAS SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH ONE TIME RENT OR UTILITY ASSISTANCE. THE LUNCH BUDDY MENTOR PROGRAM MATCHES POSITIVE AND CONSISTENT ADULT MENTORS WITH NORTH CLACKAMAS STUDENTS TO STRENGTHEN CONNECTIONS TO SCHOOL AND HELPS STUDENTS TO BUILD SELF-ESTEEM, PROMOTE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE AND STRENGTHEN PEER RELATIONSHIPS. THE BACKPACK BUDDIES PROGRAM PROVIDES TWO MEALS OVER THE WEEKEND TO STUDENTS WHO RELY ON SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH TO MEET THEIR NUTRITION NEEDS. THIS PROGRAM SERVES MORE THAN 800 STUDENTS IN 20 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND HEAD-START PROGRAMS.

NCEF SUPPLIES ACTIVITY FEE AND SUPPLY FUNDING TO THE FOUR HIGH-SCHOOLS AND CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER AS WELL AS THE FOUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS, AND THE MANY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE NORTH CLACKAMAS SCHOOL DISTRICT. THESE FUNDS GO TOWARD ENSURING EVERY CHILD IS ABLE TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN THEIR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. FUNDING GOES TOWARD AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMMING, STUDENT AND CLASSROOM SUPPLIES, A PRE-K READY, SET, GO! PROGRAM, AS WELL AS SPORTS AND OTHER PROGRAM FEES TO HELP REMOVE SOME FINANCIAL BURDEN FROM FAMILIES WHO NEED SUPPORT.
