Organizations Filed Purposes: CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION HELPS PETS AND PEOPLE IN NEED. WE TEACH KINDNESS TOWARDS ANIMALS, WE IMPLORE PET OWNERS TO SPAY AND NEUTER, WE APPLAUD TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN, WE EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ON ANIMALS LAWS, AND WE CARE ABOUT ALL THINGS BIG AND SMALL RELATED TO IMPROVING THE WELFARE OF OUR ANIMALS. OUR PASSION TO TAKE ACTION AND SHARE INFORMATION PROMOTES CHANGE, REDUCES SUFFERING, AND SAVES LIVES. WE DO WHAT WE DO OUT OF COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS AND WITH COMPASSION TOWARDS PEOPLE. OUR GOAL IS NOT TO BUILD A MORE HUMANE COMMUNITY, BUT TO BUILD A COMMUNITY WHERE PETS ARE TREATED LIKE FAMILY.

CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION HELPS PETS AND PEOPLE IN NEED.

SINCE APRIL 1, 2019, WHEN CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION TOOK OVER OPERATIONS OF THE TRI-CITIES ANIMAL SHELTER & CONTROL SERVICES, THE SHELTER HAS BEEN NO-KILL. ANIMALS EUTHANIZED WERE TAKEN TO A VET AND EXAMINED AND EUTHANIZED BY A VETERINARIAN DUE TO BEING SEVERELY INJURED OR SICK. CHICLE NEVER EUTHANIZED FOR SPACE OR AGGRESSION. BELOW ARE THE EUTHANASIA STATS SINCE 2016. IN 2016, 2017, 2018 AND THE MONTHS OF JANUARY, FEBRUARY, AND MARCH IN 2019, THE SHELTER WAS OPERATED BY A2Z ANIMAL SHELTERING. A2Z EUTHANIZED APPROXIMATELY 50% OF ALL CATS IN THEIR CARE. WHEN CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION TOOK OVER, CHICLE PROVIDED VET CARE TO SICK AND INJURED CATS/KITTENS, WORKED WITH RESCUES TO TRANSFER CATS AND KITTENS TO RESCUES TO ENSURE SHELTER SPACE, IMPLEMENTED A LIFE SAVING FOSTER PROGRAM, OFFERED TRAP/NEUTER/RETURN TO THE CITIES OF PASCO, KENNEWICK, AND RICHLAND, AND STARTED A BARN CAT PROGRAM FOR FERAL CATS. A2Z 2016: CATS - 55%, DOGS - 2.4%A2Z 2017: CATS - 65%, DOGS - 2.9%A2Z 2018: CATS - 48%, DOGS - 2.2%CHICLE 2019: CATS - 7.4%, DOGS - 1.7%CHICLE 2020: CATS - 7.6%, DOGS - 1%FOR 2020, CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION IN-TOOK 1,794 CATS (199 DOA'S, SO 1,595 ALIVE IN OUR CARE). CHICLE IN-TOOK 1,370 DOGS (46 WERE DOA).CHICLE IS SUPER PROUD OF OUR DEDICATION TO THE ANIMALS WHO WERE IN OUR CARE. IN 2020, WE ADOPTED OUT 1,070 CATS AND DOGS. WE TRANSFERRED OUT 800 CATS AND DOGS TO RESCUES. RESCUES HAVE PHENOMENAL FOSTER BASED PROGRAMS AND SOME HAVE IN-HOUSE VET CARE. WHEN OUR SPAY & NEUTER APPOINTMENTS WERE DIFFICULT TO SECURE (COVID ISSUES), WE RELIED HEAVILY ON TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES BECAUSE WE MADE THE COMMITMENT TO ADOPT OUT ALTERED ANIMALS. RESCUES ALSO HELPED WITH SICK OR INJURED ANIMALS.WE HAD 60 CATS PARTICIPATE IN OUR TRAP/NEUTER/RETURN PROGRAM AND 91 FERAL CATS WERE RELOCATED IN OUR BARN CAT PROGRAM IN 2020. UNFORTUNATELY, WE DO HAVE TO MAKE DECISIONS ON EUTHANASIA FOR SEVERELY ILL OR INJURED ANIMALS. ALL ANIMALS EUTHANIZED WERE EXAMINED BY A VET AND EUTHANIZED AT THE VET. WE EUTHANIZED 13 DOGS IN 2020 (5 WERE IN DECEMBER. 4 WERE HIT BY CARS AND 1 WAS FOUND HAVING A SEIZURE IN AN ALLEY AND COULDN'T BE SAVED). WE HAD TO EUTHANIZE 121 CATS FOR 2020. NUMBERS FOR EUTHANASIA WOULD DROP IF OWNERS WOULD KEEP THEIR ANIMALS SAFELY CONTAINED ON THEIR PROPERTY AND SPAY AND NEUTER. CHICLE ALSO DID A PHENOMENAL JOB SAVING FERAL CATS, RING WORM CATS, CATS WITH UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS, AND BOTTLE BABIES. THIS WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY DONATIONS WE RECEIVED THAT WENT TO VET CARE AND BY OUR FOSTER PROGRAM. WE WORKED WITH FOSTER FAMILIES AND THEY SAVED LIVES, HOWEVER SOME DIED IN OUR CARE, BUT WE TRIED. WE HAD 10 FERAL CATS ESCAPE OUR OUTDOOR ENCLOSURE (THIS NUMBER STINKS). FORTUNATELY, THEY WERE ALL ALTERED AND SOME ARE HANGING AROUND THE SHELTER PERFORMING RODENT CONTROL. ALL MONTHLY ANIMAL NUMBERS SINCE APRIL 2019 AND ENDING DECEMBER 2020 FOR CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION DBA TRI-CITIES ANIMAL SHELTER & CONTROL SERVICES ARE POSTED TO SHELTER ANIMAL COUNT LOCATED AT..HTTPS://WWW.SHELTERANIMALSCOUNT.ORG THIS WEBSITE ALLOWS INDIVIDUALS, CITY OFFICIALS, AND RESCUES TO ANALYZE DATA AND HELP COMMUNITY ANIMALS WHERE NEEDED. IN 2020, CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION SPAYED AND NEUTERED ALL ADOPTED ANIMALS. SPAY AND NEUTER EXPENSES WERE RECOVERED IN ADOPTION FEES AND DONATIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY. SINCE APRIL 1, 2019 AND THRU DECEMBER 31, 2020, CHICLE ANIMAL FOUNDATION SPAYED/NEUTERED 1,448 CATS AND 527 DOGS, FOR A TOTAL OF 1,975 ANIMALS.
