Organizations Filed Purposes: NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE EXISTS TO DISCIPLE EMERGING CHRISTIAN LEADERS BY DEVELOPING THEIR THEOLOGY, MINISTRY SKILLS, AND CHARACTER IN ORDER TO WIN SOULS, PLANT FRUITFUL CHURCHES, AND LEAD AS EXEMPLARY AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST IN THE MINISTRY AND MARKETPLACE.

NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE IS AN ACCREDITED CHURCH RELATED FOUR YEAR AND GRADUATE DEGREE GRANTING INSTITUTION WHOSE PRIMARY MISSION IS TRAINING LEADERS FOR MINISTRY AND MARKETPLACE.

THE YEAR OF 2020 AT NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (NHCC) SERVED TO PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENTS FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF.PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC, THE SCHOOL MADE ADVANCEMENTS ACADEMICALLY AND AS PART OF THE CAMPUS CULTURE. ACADEMICALLY, THE SCHOOL BEGAN TO CONSTRUCT A CURRICULUM MAP TO STRATEGICALLY ALIGN STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR EACH PROGRAM. THIS HAS BEEN INITIATED TO OVERCOME THE OVERLAP AND AREAS OF NEGLECT IN THE CURRICULUM. THIS IS FURTHER SUPPORTED WITH INCREASED STANDARDIZATION IN LEARNING EXPECTATIONS SUCH AS A SCHOOL-WIDE RUBRIC DESIGNED TO FACILITATE GREATER COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN THE LEARNERS. CULTURALLY, A LOCAL ART GUILD BLESSED THE CAMPUS WITH A MURAL IN THE MAIN ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING THAT CELEBRATES SERVICE AND DIVERSITY. MOREOVER, THERE WAS A SUCCESSFUL PUSH TOWARDS BEING A BLESSING TO THE COMMUNITY; STUDENT LEADERS ON CAMPUS HOSTED A CAMPUS-WIDE BLOOD DRIVE, AND A LOCAL DONOR FROM THE HEALTH INDUSTRY FACILITATED RED CROSS FIRST AID, CPR, AND AED TRAINING FOR ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS. IN ADDITION TO THESE AND THE NOW ANNUAL EVENTS SUCH AS CHRISTMAS ON THE HILL, A HARVEST HOEDOWN, AND OPEN MIC NIGHTS, AN ALL-CAMPUS CHOIR WAS ASSEMBLED.WITH THE ONSET OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE NHCC CONSTITUENTS MADE UNPLANNED BUT NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO LEARNING: LEARNING HAD TO SHIFT FROM THE SCHOOL'S PREFERRED DELIVERY OF FACE-TO-FACE TO ONLINE WITH LITTLE WARNING, WHICH REQUIRED NEW MODES OF TEACHING. FOR THE MOST PART, THE TEACHING STAFF FACILITATED THE LEARNING REMOTELY (AS OPPOSED TO ASYNCHRONOUS ONLINE EDUCATION) IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SCHEDULES, PERSONAL CONNECTIONS, AND THE PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY. THEY MADE THIS SHIFT SUCCESSFULLY EVEN THOUGH SOME HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH ONLINE LEARNING. HOWEVER, THROUGH PLATFORMS SUCH AS ZOOM, NHCC'S FACE-TO-FACE INSTRUCTORS WERE ABLE TO OVERCOME THEIR INEXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL PREFERENCES AND DELIVER EFFECTIVE ONLINE LEARNING. EVALUATIONS OF THE COURSES REVIEWED THE COURSES RELATIVELY POSITIVELY COMPARED TO PREVIOUS TERMS. AS THE SAYING GOES, "WHAT DOESN'T CHALLENGE YOU WON'T CHANGE YOU."DESPITE THE DIFFICULTIES THE YEAR, ELEVEN STUDENTS MET THE LEARNING REQUIREMENTS, COMPLETED THEIR BACHELOR'S DEGREE, AND GRADUATED MAY 8, 2020.
