Organizations Filed Purposes:
AS ONE OF THE OLDEST AND MOST SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY THEATERS IN THE COUNTRY, THE VERY LITTLE THEATRE (VLT) IS A CULTURAL ASSET IN THE EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD COMMUNITY. FOUNDED IN 1929, THE VLT IS A NONPROFIT, VOLUNTEER-BASED COMMUNITY THEATER THAT PROVIDES A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY TO BE ENTERTAINED, TO LEARN AND IMPROVE SKILLS, AND TO BE CHALLENGED AND INSPIRED THROUGH INVOLVEMENT AS PATRONS AND PARTICIPANTS IN THE ART OF THEATER.
MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDE THE PERSONNEL TO STAFF THE THEATRE FOR PRESENTATION OF PLAYS, BOX OFFICE MANAGEMENT, GENERAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS.
4 THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS WERE STAGED AND PRESENTED TO AUDIENCES OF APPROXIMATELY 2,318 PEOPLE. ALL ACTORS, DIRECTORS, STAGEHANDS, ETC WERE VOLUNTEERS GAINING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. DUE TO COVID-19 AND RESULTING GLOBAL PANDEMIC, OUR SEASON WAS SHORTENED, THE THEATRE WAS FORCED TO SHUT DOWN PRODUCTIONS AND REMAINS CLOSED.
