Wellsprings provides alternative learning approaches, supportive community, and a culture of individual affirmation, in which teenagers are mentored and assisted towards meeting the challenges of adolescence and adulthood.
1. Provided an alternative, personalized and strength-based education for 50 students, referred to from 7 districts in Lane County.2. Matriculated 13 graduates.3. Provided numerous field trips for various classes to places such as the Science Center, the Cascade Raptor Center, the Jordan Schnitzer Art Museum, Wildlife Safari, Willamalane Activity Center, and more.4. Engaged in four all-school community service days. One such example is "Burrito Missionaries," in which students utilize ingredients and resources from the Wellsprings kitchen to make burritos and then distribute them on the streets to unhoused individuals.5. Collaborated with Looking Glass to provide counseling for students on an appointment basis.6. Collaborated with CaHoots to provide counseling and medical advice to our students on a walk-in basis.7. Provided local non-profit, Huerto De La Familia, two garden plots on our property for use by local Latino families.8. Provided use of our building outside of school hours to several non-profit/volunteer community organizations.
