Organizations Filed Purposes: Mentoring students in the outdoors to foster confidence, resilience, and kinship with nature. All of our nature camps are based on our teaching philosophy which includes: Practicing gratitude; Tuning our senses to our surroundings in the present moment; Play as paramount to effective learning; Respect and stillness in nature; Community-building and helping each student shine with their gifts; Feature skills from all four of our Learning Pathways. We also have a Flow of the Day in all of our camp themes which is designed to accommodate students of diverse interests, intelligences, and energy levels.

Mission: Mentoring students in the outdoors to foster confidence, resilience, and kinship with nature.

Whole Earth Nature School operates summer nature camps which served 472 children during 2020 from ages 3 to 17. Camps included training in naturalist studies, outdoor survival skills, and self-sufficiency skills. All camps took place outdoors at local parks and open spaces. 39 families received scholarship assistance in the form of discounted tuition.

Whole Earth Nature School operates immersion programs during the school day, and after-school programs, under the program name Coyote Kids. Due to COVID-19 most of our students were in our four-hour day programs during 2020. 263 students in grades K-5 were served. The programs were operated at local parks and open spaces in cooperation with park administrators and school administrators. 73 families received equity scholarships in the form of discounted tuition.

Whole Earth Nature School operates outdoor school programs that served 973 students in grade 5. COVID-19 caused us to shift our 2020 Coyote Outdoor School program to a fully online one, rich with nature lessons and resources, and in compliance with the Oregon Outdoor School administrators at OSU.
