Organizations Filed Purposes:
The prevention of cruelty to animals with a current emphasis on low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services. We perform 23 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries per day, and engage in public education outreach in order to prevent the births of unwanted animals in Lane County.
During 2019, the WAG Spay/Neuter Clinic spayed/neutered nearly 5,200 cats and dogs, well exceeding its yearly goal of 5,000. WAG also continued to expand its wellness clinic services and ran many spay/neuter specials that particularly targeted low-income pet owners. WAG also reached several milestones in 2019, including reaching its 60,000th spay/neuter surgery and celebrating its 11-year anniversary.WAG's biennial "Night of a Thousand Spays" was very successful and raised over $32,000 for low-income spay/neuter subsidies. WAG raised over $40,000 from its 2019 annual report, which was then matched by a generous donor in early January 2020. WAG was the recipient of several grants in 2019, including from the Banfield Foundation, the Bissell Pet Foundation and the Petco Foundation.
