ADELANTE MUJERES PROVIDES HOLISTIC EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO LOW INCOME LATINA WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES TO ENSURE FULL PARTICIPATION AND ACTIVE LEADERSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECE) IS AN EDUCATION PROGRAM DEDICTATED TO SERVING TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOLERS WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN OUR ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE THE SINGLE MOST EFFECTIVE INVESTMENT TO PREPARE A CHILD FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. OUR ECE PROGRAM FILLS A CRITICAL GAP OF SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY AND HELPS LESSEN THE DISPARITY BETWEEN LATINO CHILDREN AND THEIR PEERS WHEN ENTERING SCHOOLS. WE CURRENTLY OPERATE 7 ECE CLASSROOMS THAT INCLUDE CERTIFIED PRESCHOOL AND HEAD START PROGRAMS.

CHICAS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IS AN INNOVATIVE YOUTH PROGRAM EMPOWERING LATINA GIRLS TO DEVELOP THEIR LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL, ADOPT HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, DEVELOP CULTURAL IDENTITY AND ACHIEVE ACADEMIC SUCCESS WITH HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION AND COLLEGE ENROLLMENT. CHICAS HOLISTICALLY SUPPORT LATINA GIRLS THROUGH BILINGUAL AFTER-SCHOOL SESSIONS, FAMILY SUPPORTS, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES THE WHOLE FAMILY THROUGH HOME VISITS, PARENT GATHERINGS, AND EDUCATIONAL PARENTING WORKSHOPS. THE FIRST PROGRAM OF ITS KIND IN OREGON, CHICAS PARTNERS WITH LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND MORE THAN 700 LOCAL FAMILIES EACH YEAR.

THE EMPRESAS PROGRAM IS FOCUSED ON LATINO IMMIGRANT ENTREPRENEURS. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES AN 11 WEEK SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COURSE WITH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND ONE ON ONE COACHING. EMPRESAS IS A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THAT TEACHES AND SUPPORTS SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS TO CREATE A VIBRANT LOCAL ECONOMY AND OPEN UP OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS TO PURSUE THEIR DREAMS. THROUGH TRAINING, NETWORKING EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND ACCESS TO CAPITAL, EMPRESAS HELPS LATINO ENTREPRENEURS LAUNCH SUCCESSFUL AND SUSTAINABLE SMALL BUSINESSES.
