Organizations Filed Purposes:
La Pine Community Kitchen meets the needs of the community by providing food and clothing in a welcoming safe environment. The "Kitchen" has provided over 26,000 hot nutritious meals, 304,000 lbs. of food for our non-USDA food boxes, 28,800 pieces of clothing including tents, tarps, sleeping bags, warm jackets, boots and other cold weather gear. We serve 46% veterans, 18% children and overall 54% of our patrons are 60 years and older. Many of our patrons are homeless and are surviving in homeless camps in our local woods, others are living in cars.
Community Kitchen meets the needs by providing free food non-USDA food boxes, hot nutritious lunches 5 days a week. We also provide, tents, tarps, blankets and clothing to the no income/low income women, men and children. The "Kitchens" population served in 2020 is over 7,600 individuals. Veterans 46%, children 18%. The others served include 54% over the age of 60. The "Kitchen" has given out over 304,000 lbs. of food in food boxes, over 26,000 hot lunches and 18,000 pieces of clothing and survival equipment since many of our patrons are living in homeless camps in the woods.
The La Pine Community Kitchen is made of three elements: The Kitchen, The Produce Stand and Clothes Closet. The La Pine Community Kitchen served 7,600 clients at least once during the year across the three Departments 4a. The Kitchens served 26,380 hot nutritious meals in 2020 at a cost of $1.89 per meal
4b. The Produce Stand distributed 304,000 pounds of donated produce, dairy, bread, meat and other grocery items. 7600 families visited the Produce Stand.
4c. The Clothes Closet distributed 28,800 comfort items in 2020 including clothing, cold weather items, hygiene products, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, tarps and tents. We assisted 7600 families and 9800 individuals.
