Organizations Filed Purposes: To educate and to assist local private landowners in controlling noxious weeds.

For the past 12 years the Lake County CWMA has worked with local government agencies to control noxious weeds within Lake County, these agencies include the BLM, USFS, ODA, ODFW, among others. Weed control in 2019 was done manually, mechanically and with herbicide application. There were many noxious weed species controlled during this period, but control predominately consisted of Perennial Pepperweed, Russian Knapweed, Dyers Woad, Scotch Thistle, and Medusahead Rye. The three major projects that were done this year were with the Bureau of Land Management, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Oregon Department of Agriculture. In conjunction with the Bureau of Land Management, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Lake County CWMA was able to treat 850 acres of Dyers Woad on private and federal land for a cost of $38,362.60. Working with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Oregon Department of Agriculture the Lake County CWMA was able to treat approximately 650acres of Dyers Woad, Knapweed, Yellowstar Thistle and Scotch Thistle costing a total of $45,000. The third largest program that was completed by the Lake County CWMA was our Lake County Dyers Woad project that cost a total of $39,246 and treated 458 acres. This project was funded by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
