Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts provides educational, social and economic opportunitities to Native Americans through artistic development.
In 2019 Crow's Shadow hosted five artists for two-week residencies each. Each artist works in the print studio with a master printer to produce fine-art, limited-edition prints.
Crow's Shadow hosted two adult learning printmaking workshops. The high school printmaking is organized in collaboration with the charter high school located on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Crow's Shadow teaches up to 7 students a year in a weekly class, culminating in a professional exhibition of the student works at the end of the school year. In the summer, Crow's Shadow works with the Tribal Youth programs to offer summer-camp activities for participating 10-15 year olds, hosting up to 20 students in the studio for weeklong printmaking projects. Throughout the year Crows Shadow facilitates multiple Creative Indigenous Arts workshops, hosting master artisans who in turn teach traditional Native arts. In 2019 Crow's Shadow hosted three separate workshops.
