To break the cycle of poverty in Rwanda by providing education, spiritual insight and basic necessities to poor children and families.
During 2019, the educational sponsorship program increased to more than 10,000 students from grades 1 to university. More than 480 students are working toward university degrees or post-secondary vocational certifications. Nearly 500 students graduated high school or the vocational equivalent. A class of 83 vulnerable women were equipped through vocational training and spiritual discipleship. Sponsors gave gifts to students and their families through the online store, and meals were provided for vulnerable students and adults through our schools and programs.More than 50 pastors and around 300 high school students benefitted from Bible, English, and ministry classes at Africa College of Theology, even as the schools formal degree programs were on hold for the year during a national accreditation process.1,055 students committed their lives to Christ at church events, day camps, and retreats.Community nurses oversaw 11,460 health visits with students, through which they were able to address medical needs directly, refer larger issues to local clinics or hospitals, and support families health journeys.More than 530 US visitors spent time with their sponsored students and served in different capacities in sponsored communities.Construction was completed on an educational center in Rubavu, where teacher trainings, tutoring, and community events were hosted throughout the year. Construction continued on a dormitory and multi-use building for Africa College of Theology.
More than 500 volunteers serving short-term missions to Rwanda to assist Africa New Life Ministries-Rwanda with its programs and ministries, providing medical clinics, sports camps and programs, leadership development and other conferences.
