Organizations Filed Purposes:
ACPE exists to provide an association for computing professionals from the education community where a focus is organized for the purpose of sharing and exchange of ideas, techniques, processes, and materials pertinent to the educational environment of Kindergarten through higher education. The association is also proactive in acquiring information of new and emerging technologies and in the support of industry standards whereby common interchanges of electronic information can be accomplished.
ACPE provides forums for educational information to share knowledge on current and emerging trends and technologies and their potential impact on network and computer services in education and to promote general recognition of the role computer professionals have in educational institutions.
For all members, ACPE organized a three day conference with the purpose to enhance their knowledge skills in their profession through keynote addresses, learning sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. This event is attended by 99% of the association's membership annually.
The ACPE Board of Directors meets regularly to conduct research, peer review, and study trends in the educational information technology field for it's members. The Board collects, analyzes and disseminates timely reports to the membership based on these activities. Also the Board uses this information to plan, coordinate and manage the annual conference and develop the organization's web site and online resources for all it's members.
ACPE provides 4-6 annual scholarships for graduating high school seniors in Washington and Oregon to further their post high school educational pursuits.
