DURING 2019, BLANCHET HOUSE OF HOSPITALITY MARKED SEVERAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN SUPPORT OF ITS MISSION "TO OFFER FOOD, SHELTER AND AID TO ALL THOSE IN NEED OF A SAFE PLACE TO BE NOURISHED AND RESTORED. ASSIST THE TRANSFORMATION OF EACH LIFE WE TOUCH WITH COMPASSION AND DIGNITY." WITH THE HELP OF MORE THAN 1,383 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTING 17,000 HOURS, BLANCHET HOUSE THROUGH ITS MEAL SERVICE PROGRAM SERVED 325,000 MEALS TO THE HOMELESS AND HUNGRY, THE FOOD INSECURE IN OUR COMMUNITY. WITH THE HELP OF GENEROUS INKIND DONATIONS, WE SHARED FOOD AND CLOTHING DONATIONS (VALUED AT MORE THAN $1,115,000.00) WITH THE MOST VULNERABLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, MORE THAN 400,000 OF FRESH FOOD RESCUED THEN TRUNED INTO DELICIOUS HEALTHY MEALS.THROUGH OUR RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS AT BLANCHET HOUSE IN OLDTOWN IN PORTLAND AND AT BLANCHET FARM, WE OFFERED TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND LIFE-RENEWAL SERVICE PROGRAMS FOR 175 MEN STRUGGLING WITH ADDICTION, UNEMPLOYMENT, MENTAL HEALTH, AND OTHER BARRIERS. IN THESE SAFE-AND-SOBER-LIVING SUPPORT PROGRAMS, ALL RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WERE FURTHER SUPPORTED BY DEDICATED CASE MANAGEMENT AT BOTH LOCATION INCLUDING COACHING THROUGH OUR LIFE PLAN PROCESS AND SUPPORT IN OBTAINING EXTERNAL EMPLOYMENT AND/OR TRAINING AND EDUCATION.OTHER NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE HIRING A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR WITH EXTENSIVE NONPROFIT EXPEREINCE TO LEAD BLANCHET HOUSE. AS A PART OF THE ORGANZIATION'S CONTINUING COMMITMENT TO SERVING THE COMMUNITY THE BOARD ADOPTED SIX CORE VALUES: HOSPITALITY, DIGNITY, HOPE, INTEGRITY, COMMUNITY, AND AUTHENTICITY.
