Organizations Filed Purposes:
Oregon Campus Compact provides civic and community engagement as a core educational approach for student development as citizens, leaders, and lifelong learners.
Oregon Campus Compact encourages, supports and leverages the work of institutions to educate responsible citizens and caring leaders through service by functioning as a statewide coalition of college and university presidents and their institutions; serving as a catalyst for institutions to create curricular and co-curricular community engagement opportunities for students that enrich student learning and develop the skills and habits of citizenship; encouraging the engagement of faculty in community-based scholarship that addresses societal concerns; fostering the development of collaborative partnerships among campuses and with communities across Oregon; and supporting civic and community engagement by cultivating and encouraging open discourse on issues and values. During 2018 we recruited and managed 47 AmeriCorps volunteers across VISTA, College Access Corps, and Connect2Compete. Complete 3rd cohort of the Executive Learning Series on Equity & Empowerment as well as 4 primer trainings on equity in higher education and a summer institute on equity.
