Organizations Filed Purposes: MOBILIZE LOCAL COMMUNITIES, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES (ODHS), TO SAFELY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE IN OREGON.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ODHS, CP3 DESIGNED AND LAUNCHED THE SAFE AT HOME PILOT IN MARION COUNTY TO HELP CHILDREN EXIT FOSTER CARE AND REUNITE WITH THEIR BIRTH FAMILIES. SAFE AT HOME MOBILIZES COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER AS FAMILY PARTNERS TO KEEP AN EYE ON CHILD SAFETY DURING TRIAL REUNIFICATION. LACK OF SAFETY ASSURANCE IS OFTEN A BARRIER TO CHILD-FAMILY REUNIFICATION.

STABLE HOUSING IS AN ODHS REQUIREMENT FOR CHILD-FAMILY REUNIFICATION. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ODHS, CP3 WORKED WITH THE IRON TRIBE NETWORK (ITN) TO REPLICATE THEIR GROUP HOUSING MODEL IN MARION-POLK COUNTIES.

CP3 PROVIDES CASE-BY-CASE SUPPORT TO CHILD WELFARE INVOLVED FAMILIES TO ELIMINATE FINAL BARRIERS TO FAMILY REUNIFICATION, BASED ON REFERRALS FROM THE MARION COUNTY CHILD WELFARE LEADERSHIP TEAM. CP3 IS ALSO WORKING WITH MARION COUNTY CHILD WELFARE ON A TRANSPORTATION EFFORT THAT WILL FREE UP CASEWORKERS FROM DRIVING DUTIES AND DEDICATE MORE TIME TO FAMILIES. THE MORE TIME A CHILD WELFARE CASEWORKER SPENDS DEVELOPING A RELATIONSHIP WITH A CHILD AND HER/HIS FAMILY THE HIGHER THE LIKELIHOOD OF THE CHILD ACHIEVING SUCCESSFUL REUNIFICATION OR PERMANENCY.
