RESEARCH JUSTICE - CCC IMPLEMENTS CULTURALLY SPECIFIC AND CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE DATA AND RESEARCH PROJECTS TO BUILD AN IMPORTANT KNOWLEDGE BASE FROM WHICH TO EDUCATE AND TO ADVOCATE.WORKING TO ENSURE DATA THAT INFORMS DECISION-MAKING ADEQUATELY AND CAPTURES THE LIVED EXPERIENCES OF COMMUNITIES OF COLOR, THAT RESEARCH IS UNDERTAKEN THROUGH MEANINGFUL ENGAGEMENT OF THOSE MOST AFFECTED BY THE DECISIONS GUIDED BY THE RESEARCH. DATA CAN BE USED TO CHANGE DISCOURSES, BUILD CAPACITY, DEVELOP COMMUNITY, LEVERAGE RESOURCES, AND CREATE NEW POLICY ENVIRONMENTS. CCC AIMS TO ENSURE DATASETS ARE CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE, AND TO INFLUENCE RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES TO EMPOWER COMMUNITIES AND ELIMINATE INEQUITIES.THROUGH CCC'S RESEARCH JUSTICE INSTITUTE, BIPOC DECOLONIZING DATA COUNCIL AND OTHER VEHICLES, CCC IS CREATING A FOUNDATION OF DATA AND RESEARCH RESPONDENT TO THE NEEDS AND ADVANCEMENT OF COMMUNITIES OF COLOR.

COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - CCC ENVISIONS CONNECTED, BALANCED, HEALTHY AND THRIVING COMMUNITIES. TO ACHIEVE THIS VISION, CCC PRIORITIZES ANTI-DISPLACEMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND WORKS TO BROADEN THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE JUSTICE MOVEMENT IN OREGON SO THAT IT PROACTIVELY ADVANCES CLIMATE SOLUTIONS THAT CLOSE OPPORTUNITY GAPS EXPERIENCED BY COMMUNITIES OF COLOR IN OREGON. CCC BELIEVES THAT THE INTERSECTIONALITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE, ECONOMIC JUSTICE AND HEALTH EQUITY ARE CRITICAL TO ACHIEVING THESE GOALS. CCC FURTHER BELIEVES ANY ENVIRONMENTAL OR CLIMATE INITIATIVE MUST LEAD WITH RACIAL AND ECONOMIC EQUITY, PREVENT HARM, PROVIDE BENEFIT, AND ENSURE INCLUSIVE AND ACCOUNTABLE DECISION MAKING. POLICY ANALYSIS AND ADVOCACY - CCC ADVANCES POLICIES IN OREGON THAT HAVE THE BEST POTENTIAL TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. CCC UNDERSTANDS THAT TOGHETHER, OUR COMMUNITY CAN CREATE A POLICY ENVIRONMENT THAT SUPPORTS ALL OREGONIANS.
