Organizations Filed Purposes:
Corrib Theatre's mission is to bring Irish playwrights' unique perspective on oppression and empowerment, and conflict and resolution, to Portland in order to change our world for the better. We engage, inspire, entertain, and challenge audiences with theatrical productions dealing with universal issues filtered through the Irish experience.
This year we presented two challenging and provocative full productions (30 performances) to the Portland public, reaching nearly 1,500 audience members. Our third production had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. We hired about 30 actors, designers, directors, technicians, and crew. We held talkbacks and panel discussions to further our educational outreach. During the year we cultivated partnerships with other theatres, local businesses, social service organizations, and artistic and community organizations. We reached out and established relationships with new playwrights whose work we plan to produce in the future.
