EASTER SEALS OREGON PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TO OREGONIANS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS, VETERANS, AND MATURE JOB SEEKERS TO LEARN SKILLS TO SUCCESSFULLY ENTER OR RETURN TO THE WORKING FORCE. SERVICES INCLUDE JOB PLACEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT, TRAINING, AND LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT. EASTER SEALS OREGON ALSO PROVIDES HOUSING ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS.
EASTER SEALS OREGON CAMPING PROGRAMS PROVIDE A SAFE, BARRIER-FREE ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS TO EXPERIENCE ALL ASPECTS OF RESIDENTIAL CAMP WITHOUTH THE USUAL LIMITATIONS. PARTICPANTS MAKE FRIENDS, LEARN ABOUT AND EXPLORE NATURE, SING SONGS AREON THE CAMP FIERE, GAIN CONFIDENCE, AND CREATE MEMORIES THAT LINGER LONG AFTER THE CAMP FIRES HAVE GONE OUT. THIS EXPERIENCE IS COUPLED WITH DIDICATED STAFF AND SPECIALLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS WHO HELP MEET THE UNIQUES NEES OF OUR CAMPERS, MAKE FOR A MEMORABLE TIME FOR OUR CAMPERS AND RESPITE FOR THEIR CAREGIVERS.
PUBLIC EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE THE PLANNING AND IMPROVING OF COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE PRACTICES AND INFORMING AND TRAINING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO RECOGNIZE SYMPTOMS OF ILL HEALTH, DISEASE, AND DISABILITY. THE PURSUIT OF OTHER FUNCTIONS THAT DIRECTLY BENEFIT COMMUNITIES AND DEVELOPING A SUPPORTIVE CLIMATE FOR TOTAL ACCEPTANCE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. NO EXPENSES ARE SPECIFIALLY ALLOCATION TO THESE ACTIVITIES.
