Organizations Filed Purposes:
To improve the quality of life for dogs living outdoors by building fences free of charge for families who keep their dogs on chains, tethers, or in small enclosures. We also provide an insulated doghouse for each dog, as well as spay/neuter services and emergency veterinary care when needed. To accelerate the unchaining movement, we actively support and mentor new unchaining groups all over the country.
For this fiscal year, Fences For Fido has successfully unchained over 250 dogs through building fences and providing insulated dog houses. We perform this service in the Portland, Central Oregon, SW Washington, and Oregon coast areas.
This program helps provide for the basic needs of the dogs, including food, flea treatment, dog beds, and even toys. The main expenses of this program are spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and general medical treatments to get the dogs healthy again.
Fences For Fido actively supports and mentors new unchaining groups all over the country. This support can be both advisory and financial. We also support animal rights laws, especially laws specific to non-tethering, in Oregon, Washington, and the rest of the country.
