Organizations Filed Purposes: TO PRESENT A BROAD RANGE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY CHAMBER MUSIC ENSEMBLES AND ARTISTS, AND PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO FURTHER CHAMBER MUSIC IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE WELCOME EVERYONE AND HONOR OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN ALL ASPECTS OF THIS ENDEAVOR.

FRIENDS OF CHAMBER MUSIC TYPICALLY PRESENTS 22-28 CONCERTS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FROM OCTOBER THROUGH MAY, FEATURING THE VERY FINEST CHAMBER ENSEMBLES IN THE WORLD, BOTH WORLD-RENOWNED AND YOUNG, EMERGING ARTISTS. PROGRAMS INCLUDE: (1) A CLASSIC SERIES THAT OFFERS 5 ENSEMBLES IN 10 CONCERTS EACH SEASON (PREDOMINANTLY STRING QUARTETS AND PIANO TRIOS); (2) A NOT SO CLASSIC SERIES THAT OFFERS 2-4 NON-TRADITIONAL, CONTEMPORARY, OR ALTERNATIVE ENSEMBLES; (3) A VOCAL ARTS SERIES THAT OFFERS 2-4 ENSEMBLES OR RECITALISTS; (4) AN EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM THAT OFFERS EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS VARIOUS COMMUNITY OUTREACH ACTIVITIES; AND (5) A SERIES OF 20-25 FUNDRAISING EVENTS CALLED DINNER WITH FRIENDS. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.FRIENDS OF CHAMBER MUSIC PRESENTED 12 CONCERTS WITH TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 5,200 IN THE 2019-20 SEASON AS PART OF THE CLASSIC SERIES, NOT SO CLASSIC SERIES, AND VOCAL ARTS SERIES. CONCERTS TOOK PLACE IN LINCOLN PERFORMANCE HALL AND THE OLD CHURCH. FOUR ADDITIONAL CONCERTS WERE CANCELED IN MARCH-APRIL, 2020 DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. IN ADDITION, FRIENDS OF CHAMBER MUSIC PRESENTED 10 EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES BY PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS WITH APPROXIMATELY 1,000 LOCAL ATTENDEES. TWO PUBLIC MASTER CLASSES WERE HELD: ANNE SOFIE VON OTTER AT THE PORTLAND OPERA MUSIC STUDIO, AND TAKACS QUARTET AT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY. SIX ENSEMBLES (TELEGRAPH QUARTET, DANISH QUARTET, QUARTETTO GELATO, GOULD PIANO TRIO, NORDIC VOICES, AND INVOKE)OFFERED CONCERTS AND COACHING AT SIX DIFFERENT LOCAL ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOLS SERVING UP TO 84% NON-WHITE STUDENTS AND UP TO 94% ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS: ALDER CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL, UNION HIGH SCHOOL (VANCOUVER), SITTON ELEMENTARY, WILSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL, WEST LINN HIGH SCHOOL, AND GEORGE MIDDLE SCHOOL. ONE PRE-CONCERT LECTURE WAS OFFERED BEFORE THE ANNE SOFIE VON OTTER VOCAL RECITAL AND A 3-SESSION VOCAL APPRECIATION CLASS WAS OFFERED AT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY. AN 8-SESSION CHAMBER MUSIC APPRECIATION CLASS THAT IS TYPICALLY HELD AT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE SPRING HAD TO BE CANCELED IN 2020. SIXTEEN DINNER WITH FRIENDS EVENTS WERE HELD IN THE 2019-20 SEASON WITH TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 790, INCLUDING FIVE "PALEY & FRIENDS" EVENTS IN COLLABORATION WITH HEADWATERS RESTAURANT. NINE ADDITIONAL DINNER WITH FRIENDS EVENTS WERE CANCELED IN MARCH-JULY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
