Harper's Playground's mission is to inspire vital communities by helping create inviting playgrounds for people of all abilities.
Direct Partnership & Consultation - We worked as a direct inclusive playground design consultant to Anna & Abbys Yard in Forest Grove, OR over the course of the entire year. We consulted on two separate Portland Public Schools inclusive playground designs; one at Buckman School and the other at Sabin Elementary. We conducted 42 individual consultations with community members who had downloaded our How-To Book and sought 1-1 feedback on their individual plans.
Indirect Consultation & Open-Sourced Tool Sharing - We revised our How-To Book with updated designs and text highlighting learnings and making it even easier for communities to take their inspiration from our work and turn that into projects of their own. Our How-To Book was downloaded a total of 122 times by unique community members seeking our unique knowledge.
Awareness Campaign & Playground Maintenance / Programming - We worked with a documentary film crew to create a 5+ minute promotional video that inspires copycat projects around the country. Also, we planned and held cleanup events at several of our area playgrounds with special attention to ensuring they were Covid-19 safe.
