Organizations Filed Purposes:
Locally and globally, the organization has been operating programs designed to increase the capacity of individuals and enterprise to solve community propblems. Our approach has been to cultivate an Innovative Ecosystem in which leaders can flourish in any community. This framework continues to drive our programs: 1 Teach the change maker inside each of us 2 Create a home for community innovators to find what they need 3 Create new tools that grow community capital 4 Build ecosystems for citizen-led change.
Hatch Community Innovation Labs: As social entrepreneurs develop their businesses, they need places to work, learn and grow. We launched Hatch Community Labs Hatch Labs in late 2013 in Portland to provide such a place - a place for change leaders to call home. This program provides revenue for educational programs and community events as well as pays for its expenses. Because of our success in Portland, we were invited to a rural town in NE Oregon to open a second Hatchlab in Baker City. This opened in October 2016 on Main street. It has developed partnerships with leading agencies throughout the region, received funding support from the USDA and business Oregon, and has four tenants.
