Organizations Filed Purposes: Nehirim is a national community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) Jews, families, and allies, committed to a more just and inclusive world. Our retreats, student programs, and community events transform lives. And our advocacy work promotes equality and diversity based on the teachings of the Jewish tradition.

Nehirim ("Lights") is a national community of LGBT Jews, partners, and allies, committed to creating a more just and inclusive world. Nehirim's work transforms lives, supports those in need, and promotes equality and diversity based on the gifts of the Jewish tradition.

Knowing that it would be closing its doors by the end of the year, Nehirim reduced the number of retreats it provided, and began transitioning programs to other organizations. The annual men's camp moved to its new owners prior to its 2015 event date, so is not included herein. Not including the men's program, Nehirim held a total of 3 general program retreats (in addition to the Student & Clergy retreats in paragraphs 2 and 3, respectively.) The Family program (non-retreat) ended in June. The Women's and Student's programs move to their new owners effective Jan. 1, 2016.

The success of the student program warranted finding a new organizational home for it. It will continue under the auspices of Hillel International, effective Jan 1, 2016. Together the two 2015 events had a combined attendance of 63 students.

Following on the success of the 2014 clergy retreat, the 2015 retreat was successful enough to warrant it continuing under new leadership. The program moves to Pacific School of Religion in 2016. There were a total of 24 clergy who participated in this year's Interfaith Clergy retreat. As per the grant, a short film was produced chronicling the event.
