Organizations Filed Purposes: THE NORTHWEST ACADEMIC COMPUTING CONSORTIUM'S MISSION IS TO FOSTER COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION AMONG ITS MEMBER INSTITUTIONS ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY FOR INSTRUCTION, RESEARCH, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS.

NORTHWEST ACADEMIC COMPUTING CONSORTIUM, INC. ("NWACC") COMPRISES OF COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, AND OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND NEARBY AREAS. FOUNDED IN 1987, NWACC'S MISSION IS TO FOSTER COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION AMONG ITS MEMBER INSTITUTIONS ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY FOR INSTRUCTION, RESEARCH, AND ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS.

CIO COUNCIL MEETINGS - HOSTED MEETINGS OF MEMBER INSTITUTION CIOS TO SHARE STRATEGIES AND SOLUTIONS FOR ADDRESSING THE CURRENT CHALLENGES IN HIGHER EDUCATION INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATION. FOR EXAMPLE, DISCUSSIONS AMONG CIOS ABOUT THE CHANGES THAT HAVE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN INSTRUCTION, PERSONNEL, BUDGET, REMOTE TECHNOLOGIES, ETC., AND HOW IT LEADERS CAN SUPPORT THESE CHANGES.LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - HOSTED A WORKSHOP FOR ALUMNI OF ALL COHORTS OF THE NWACC LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON THE SUBJECT OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION AND CULTIVATING AN ANTI-RACIST ENVIRONMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION IT ORGANIZATIONS. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE OTHE WORKSHOP WAS FACILITATED BY MICHAEL CATO, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CIO, BOWDOIN COLLEGE. THE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM BUILDS CORE IT LEADERSHIP SKILLS, ADDRESSES PRACTICAL TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP ISSUES IN HIGHER EDUCATION, AND BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN COHORTS THROUGH SMALL, INTENSIVE CAMPS HELD AT MEMBER INSTITUTIONS.CYBERSECURITY - HOSTED AN IN-DEPTH, 3-DAY VIRTUAL WORKSHOP ON CYBERSECURITY TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES, ATTENDED BY SECURITY STAFF FROM NWACC MEMBER INSTITUTIONS. THE WORKSHOP FEATURED INFORMATION SECURITY ANALYSES, EXPERT PRESENTATIONS, BEST PRACTICE SHARING, AND OTHER COLLABORATIVE ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO ENHANCE INFORMATION SECURITY AND CYBERSECURITY PROFILES AT MEMBER INSTITUTIONS. INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY - HOSTED A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS AND MEETINGS ATTENDED BY INSTRUCTIONAL AND ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY STAFF FROM NWACC MEMBER INSTITUTIONS ON KEY TOPICS, NEW TECHNOLOGIES, AND BEST PRACTICES IN INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES AND PEDAGOGY, WITH PARTICULAR FOCUS AROUND RESPONDING TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND PEER SUPPORT. CONTINUED COLLABORATIVE WORK BY NWACC INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY PARTICIPANTS TO DEVELOP AN OPEN, ONLINE RESOURCE AROUND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES (HTTP://WWW.NWACCO.ORG/).
