Organizations Filed Purposes: OCEAN OUTCOMES (O2) EXISTS TO CREATE A FUTURE WITH HEALTHY AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS, A PLENTIFUL AND PROFITABLE SEAFOOD SUPPLY, AND THRIVING FISHING AND FISH-FARMING COMMUNITIES. WE WORK WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES, FISHERIES AND THE SEAFOOD INDUSTRY TO IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY OF FISHERIES. OUR WORK ADDRESSES THE FULL RANGE OF MAJOR CHALLENGES CONTRIBUTING TO THE GLOBAL CRISIS IN OCEAN HEALTH, INCLUDING ILLEGAL FISHING, OVERFISHING, AND HABITAT DEGRADATION. ALL OF THESE REPRESENT SERIOUS RISKS TO THE LIVELIHOOD OF FISHERS, FOOD SECURITY, AND OCEAN BIODIVERSITY. O2'S COLLABORATIVE APPROACH HELPS FISHERIES AND FISH FARMS ACHIEVE MEANINGFUL IMPROVEMENTS THAT RESULT IN A MORE SECURE FUTURE FOR COMMUNITIES THAT ARE DEPENDENT UPON SEAFOOD FOR FOOD AND LIVELIHOODS.

OCEAN OUTCOME'S MISSION IS TO WORK WITH COMMUNITIES AND THE SEAFOOD INDUSTRY - CONTINUED ON SCH. OTO IMPROVE THE SUSTAINABILITY OF HIGH RISK FISHERIES. O2 CULTIVATES DEEP RELATIONSHIPS WITH FISHERMEN, SEAFOOD BUYERS, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS TO UNCOVER AND IMPLEMENT LOCAL SOLUTIONS TO SYSTEMS LEVEL PROBLEMS IN GLOBALLY SIGNIFICANT FISHERIES.

"FISHERY AND SEAFOOD INITIATIVES- IMPLEMENTED AND GREW A MAJOR INITIATIVE TO IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY OF KEY ALBACORE AND YELLOWFIN TUNA FISHERIES THROUGH TWO PROJECTS IN THE INDIAN AND WESTERN AND CENTRAL PACIFIC OCEANS ENCOMPASSING HUNDREDS OF FISHING VESSELS PRODUCING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF TUNA ANNUALLY.- DEVELOPED AND LAUNCHED TWO NEW FISHERY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN JAPAN FOR AN OYSTER AND GIANT OCTOPUS FISHERY WHICH WILL SUPPORT MORE SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT, COLLECT BETTER AND MORE ROBUST SCIENTIFIC DATA, MONITOR IMPACTS ON LOCAL ENVIRONMENTS AND OTHER SPECIES, AND DEVELOP PLANS TO TRANSITION TO PRECAUTIONARY MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORKS.- WORKED WITH GLOBAL SEAFOOD INDUSTRY STAKEHOLDERS AND LOCAL PARTNERS TO ADVANCE FIVE ADDITIONAL FISHERY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN CHINA AND JAPAN WHICH ARE COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS TRANSITIONING THE RESPECTIVE FISHERIES TO MORE SUSTAINABLE FISHERY MANAGEMENT AND FISHING PRACTICES."
