OPAL Environmental Justice Oregon builds power for Environmental Justice and Civil Rights in our communities. We organize low-income communities and people of color to achieve a safe and healthy environment where we live, work, learn, play and pray. We strive to create opportunities for meaningful participation in decision making.
OPAL trained leaders through our leadership and training programs and brings community members into issues addressing Environmental Justice. We convened community partner organizations to advance policy campaigns on transportion justice, environmental and climate justice. This included a stop on fare increases, expansion of youth transit access, advancing community centered safety solutions and utility reform.
