Organizations Filed Purposes:
OPS is a statewide professional organization dedicated to promoting the optimal health and development of children and youth in partnership with families and communities.
OPS develops and offers CME webinars and in-person trainings, an annual all-day educational conference, and learning collaboratives for medical providers, clinic staff, and community partners. OPS provides Oregon pediatricians with quality improvement projects for American Board of Pediatrics' Maintenance of Certification credits. QI projects cover several Pediatric Behavioral Health topics.
As the state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, OPS coordinates opportunities for members to engage in research, networking, and child health advocacy on a national and state level. OPS also serves as a fiscal agent for chapter members' small grants.
OPS works with members, community partners, health and social services systems, agencies of the Oregon Health Authority, and the AAP to promote health care system policies about issues such as suicide prevention, provider performance metrics, value-based payments, and physician wellness on a state and national level.
