Organizations Filed Purposes:
To contribute to the successful development of the Japanese Magnet Program (JMP) of Portland Public Schools and to develop a network of mutual support among program participants.
Cultural Exchange - Graduating Japanese immersion 5th graders and 8th graders in the middle school program travel to Japan as part of their language immersion experience. Japanese students are hosted during visits to the United States.
Classroom and Curriculum support - Financial support is provided for the Japanese immersion elementary, middle school, and high school classrooms. Support includes assistance with supplies, field trips, interns, tutors, and summer camp for elementary students.
Member events and activities - The organization sponsors a weekend family camp and other activities throughout the year.
