Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Play it Forward is to provide musical instruments, instruction and inspiring opportunities to students in the Pacific Northwest in the following ways: Accept new and used instruments to gift to students. Provide instruments and instruction to students through piano lessons taught by teachers who meet students at their school and/or program locations. Give performance opportunities to Play It Forward recipients at local outreaches and recitals. Provide scholarships to students in need for music lessons.
During the school year 2018 - 19, relationships with 4 different organizations allowed Play it Forward to serve 75 students with piano lessons. These lessons were taught by 8 teachers in 5 different locations. Two community piano recitals were attended by a total of 200 parents, teachers administrators and community members, creating a successful, new tradition for all in attendance. Play it Forward facilitated the donation of instruments to multiple schools, community centers, teachers & individuals impacting hundreds of students. 135 instruments were given to aspiring students and to schools.
