THE PONGO FUND PROVIDES PET FOOD AND LIFESAVING VETERINARY CARE FOR THE FINANCIALLY LESS FORTUNATE INCLUDING SENIORS, VETERANS, THE UNEMPLOYED, THE DISABLED, THE MENTALLY ILL, THE HUNGRY, THE HURTING, THE HOMELESS AND GOOD PEOPLE FACING THE TOUGHEST OF TIMES.
TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY PET FOOD & VITAL VETERINARY CARE FOR THE FAMILY PETS OF THOSE LESS FORTUNATE.
DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020, THE PONGO FUND EXPANDED OUR AWARD-WINNING AND LIFESAVING WORK BUILT ON THE UNDENIABLE REALITY THAT HUNGRY AND HURTING PEOPLE HAVE HUNGRY AND HURTING PETS, ALLOWING THE PONGO FUND TO SAVE THE LIVES OF THOUSANDS OF HUNGRY AND HURTING ANIMALS BY KEEPING THEM SAFE IN THEIR HOMES AND OUT OF THE SHELTERS BY PROVIDING CRITICAL EMERGENCY SERVICES TO FIGHT PAIN AND SUFFERING AND END UNNECESSARY EUTHANASIA WHILE REDUCING ANIMAL SHELTER INTAKE BY THOUSANDS, VIA AN EXPANSIVE PARTNERSHIP NETWORK PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY PET FOOD AND LIFESAVING VETERINARY CARE, AND WE PROVIDED THOSE SERVICES FREE-OF-CHARGE TO HUNGRY AND HURTING ANIMALS THROUGHOUT THE LOW-INCOME AND SOCIAL SERVICE COMMUNITY. WE HELPED PROUD SENIORS, BRAVE VETERANS, THE VICTIMIZED, THE MARGINALIZED, THE UNEMPLOYED, THE DISABLED, THE MENTALLY ILL, THE HUNGRY, THE HURTING, THE HOMELESS, AND GOOD PEOPLE FACING THE TOUGHEST OF TIMES. TO DATE OUR VOLUNTEER-DRIVEN ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED MORE THAN 18 MILLION MEALS AND HELPED SAVE THE LIVES OF MORE THAN 165,000 ANIMALS WITH INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS INCLUDING OUR PET FOOD BANK, MOBILE VETERINARY HOSPITAL AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM, ALL WORKING SEAMLESSLY TOGETHER TO DELIVER AN ARRAY OF CONSISTENT SERVICES FOCUSED ON EXCELLENCE IN CARE. OUR PET FOOD BANK PROVIDED MORE THAN 3 MILLION HIGH-QUALITY MEALS DURING THE YEAR, DISTRIBUTED DIRECTLY TO THE PUBLIC AS WELL AS VIA OUR 100 DIFFERENT SATELLITE LOCATIONS, INCLUDING EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO MORE THAN A DOZEN OREGON WILDFIRE ZONES AND FOR THOUSANDS MORE LEFT UNEXPECTEDLY UNEMPLOYED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE PONGO FUND MOBILE VETERINARY HOSPITAL CONTINUED TO PROVIDE FREE LIFESAVING CARE FOR HUNDREDS OF ANIMALS AGAIN THIS YEAR THANKS TO A NETWORK OF DEDICATED VETERINARIANS AND MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING BOTH BASIC AND ADVANCED SURGERIES, DENTALS, SPAY-NEUTER, LABWOK, X-RAY, EXAMINATIONS, VACCINATIONS, MEDICATIONS, EDUCATION AND MORE. THE PONGO FUND EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM CONTINUED TO MAINTAIN A NETWORK OF RESPONDERS TO REACT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE TO PROVIDE HELP, HEALTH AND COMFORT DURING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS WHEN PEOPLE AND PETS WERE INVOLVED.
