CONCERT PROGRAMS: IN ITS 2019/20 SEASON, PBO PRESENTED PUBLIC PERFORMANCES OF BAROQUE AND CLASSICAL MUSIC BY PAID PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS IN FULFILLMENT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S STATED MISSION. THESE CONSISTED OF FOUR SUBSCRIPTION CONCERT PROGRAMS, PERFORMED THREE TIMES EACH, AND OTHER MUSIC PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE REGION. TWO ADDITIONAL CONCERT SETS WERE PLANNED BUT CANCELED, DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS. 8,900 PEOPLE IN THE GREATER PORTLAND SW WASHINGTON REGION WERE SERVED. REVENUES REPORTED WERE IN THE FORM OF TICKET SALES AND FEE-FOR-SERVICE CONTRACTS. EXPENSES ARE PRIMARILY ARTISTIC PERSONNEL, TRANSPORTATION, FACILITY RENTAL, AND OTHER MATERIALS, SUPPLIES AND SUPPORTING PERSONNEL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRODUCTION OF THESE PROGRAMS.
MARKETING CAMPAIGNS: THE ORGANIZATION UNDERTAKES EXTENSIVE MARKETING CAMPAIGNS, UTILIZING A BROAD RANGE OF PLATFORMS (E.G. PRINT MEDIA, DIRECT MAIL, RADIO BROADCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, E-MAIL MARKETING, ETC.) TO SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT PBO'S PROGRAM OFFERINGS AND EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT ITS MISSION. EXPENSES INCLUDE PRINTING AND MAILING EXPENSE, ADVERTISING/MEDIA PURCHASES, ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION COSTS AND MARKETING PERSONNEL EXPENSE.
PBO BEGAN CAPTURING SINGLE-CAMERA VIDEO OF THREE PRODUCTIONS, WITH THE INTENTION OF BUILDING A DIGITAL VIDEO LIBRARY. WHEN THE SHUTDOWN ON LARGE EVENTS HAPPENED DUE TO COVID-19, PBO LAUNCHED A LIVESTREAMING SERVICE WITHIN 48 HOURS. THE ORGANIZATION COMPLETED ITS CONCERT SEASON DIGITALLY, SERVING 134,000 VIEWERS WITH VIDEO PRODUCTIONS. IT ADDITIONALLY PROVIDED FREE LIVESTREAMING SERVICES TO PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, SERVING AN ADDITIONAL 86,000 VIEWERS.
