PROFILE PRODUCES A SEASON OF PLAYS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES CENTERED ON A SINGLE PLAYWRIGHT WHOSE VISION BROADENS OUR PERSPECTIVE ON THE WORLD AND DEEPENS OUR COLLECTIVE COMPASSION.

PRODUCTIONS:WE PRESENT FOUR PROFESSIONALLY STAGED THEATER PRODUCTIONS EACH YEAR, FEATURING THE WORK OF THE MOST IMPORTANT WRITERS OF OUR TIME. WE EMPLOY DOZENS OF ARTISTS AND CRAFTS PEOPLE ANNUALLY THROUGH OUR PRODUCTION OF BETWEEN 40 AND 50 PERFORMANCES, SERVING AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 5,000. OUR PRODUCTIONS ARE ENHANCED BY OUR IN DIALOGUE EVENTS, WHICH INCLUDE STAGED READINGS, LECTURES, CULTURAL EXHIBITS AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS.IN RECOGNITION OF THE UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE OPERATING IN THE COMING YEAR AS WE MAKE ACCOMMODATIONS TO KEEP ARTISTS AND AUDIENCES SAFE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE ORGANIZATION MADE THE DECISION IN APRIL, 2020 TO OFFER ALL PROGRAMMING VIRTUALLY THROUGH AT LEAST DECEMBER 2020, AND TO BE PREPARED TO DO SO THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021 IF NECESSARY. OUR CURRENT COMMUNITY PROFILE COHORT IS THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY AND PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV, A POPULATION PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE TO ISOLATION AND HEALTH-RELATED TRAUMA. WE MADE AN IMMEDIATE PIVOT TO ONLINE PROGRAMMING FOR COMMUNITY PROFILE SO THAT WE COULD CONTINUE THIS PROGRAM WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. WE ARE PLANNING OUR 2020-21 SEASON 6-MONTHS AT A TIME AND ANNOUNCING OUR MAIN STAGE PLAYS IN 3-MONTH BLOCKS TO ALLOW FOR MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY AS WE NAVIGATE THE NEW LANDSCAPE. OUR FIRST THREE MAIN STAGE PLAYS HAVE TAKEN THE FORM OF PODCASTS IN OUR NEW PROGRAM CALLED PROFILE THEATRE ON AIR. WE WILL CONTINUE PROFILE THEATRE ON AIR IN THE WINTER WITH ADDITIONAL ONLINE AND STREAMING CONTENT BEING PLANNED.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY PROFILE PROGRAM, WE SELECT AN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITY WITH A PARTICULAR AFFINITY FOR THE WORK ON THE MAIN STAGE FOR A FULL YEAR OF CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY BUILDING THROUGH MONTHLY WRITING WORKSHOPS. WE CONNECT FURTHER THROUGH OUR PLAYWRIGHT'S RESIDENCY, WHICH EMBEDS THE FEATURED WRITER IN THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE THEATRE, PROVIDING MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENGAGEMENT WITH VARIOUS COMMUNITIES AS WELL AS PATRONS AND ARTISTS.
