Rahabs Sisters creates community through radical hospitality with those marginalized by poverty, houselessness, sex work, violence and substance use. Our doors are open to anyone who identifies as a woman or whose gender identity makes them vulnerable.
2020 was a year of significant expansion for Rahabs Sisters. We pivoted our programming to serve as many people as possible during the pandemic, setting up hospitality and meal service to include more people in new locations. We served an average of 100 people every Friday. In addition, we added a camp outreach on Sunday afternoon, bringing hot meals, hygiene supplies, tents, tarps, and sleeping bags to approximately 180 individuals each week. Our mental health support both continued and expanded, with counselors on site every Friday as well as participating in Sunday deliveries and weekly phone check-ins for some guests as well as some volunteers.
