Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO ENHANCE THE OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY URBAN HORTICULTURE PROGRAM IN THE STATE OF OREGON
GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO FURTHER THE EDUCATION OF STUDENTS IN HORTICULTURE AND ASSISTING CHAPTERS WITH SPECIAL PROJECTS.THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO ASSIST THE OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION PROGRAM DEALING WITH HOME HORTICULTURE. INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN THIS ACTIVITY ARE TRAINED BY THE LOCAL EXTENSION AGENTS WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE INDIVIDUAL CHAPTERS. UPON COMPLETION OF THE TRAINING, THE TRAINEES AND THE MEMBERS WORK VOLUNTARILY TO ASSIST THE LOCAL CITIZENS DEALING WITH THEIR INDIVIDUAL HOME HORTICULTURE NEEDS.
MISC SPECIAL PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS
SPRING GARDEN FAIR PLANTS AND RELATED PRODUCTS ARE SOLD TO LOCAL AREA RESIDENTS BY LOCAL GROWERS. THE CHAPTERS PROVIDE BOOTHS FOR EDUCATION AND SOIL TESTING. THE MEMBERS INVOLVED IN THESE ACTIVITIES WERE OVER 650. MORE THAN 8000 HOURS WERE VOLUNTEERED BY CHAPTER MEMBERS. 24,300 MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WERE SERVED BY THIS INVOLVEMENT.
