Organizations Filed Purposes: ABC OF OREGON STRIVES TO PROVIDE PRODUCERS WITH EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT HELP THEM BECOME MORE SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS. WE ALSO TAKE A THREE TIERED APPROACH TO REACH OUT AND CONNECT WITH OUR URBAN NEIGHBORS: GRASS ROOTS, MULTIMEDIA, AND ONLINE COMMUNITIES. IN A DAY AND AGE IN WHICH PEOPLE FORGET THAT MILK COMES FROM COWS AND FRUITS AND VEGETABLES DON'T GROW AT A GROCERY STORE, IT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER TO ENGAGE OREGONIANS ABOUT WHERE THEIR FOOD AND FIBER COME FROM.

GROW AGRICULTURE THROUGH EDUCATION; BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN URBAN & RURAL OREGONIANS.

THE AGRI-BUSINESS COUNCIL OF OREGON OFFERS SEVERAL PROGRAMS FOR ITS MEMBERS, INCLUDING WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE DISCOUNTS, AND OTHER MARKETING MATERIALS TO HELP THEM PROMOTE OREGON AGRICULTURE. IN ADDITION TO MEMBER BENEFITS, THE AGRI-BUSINESS COUNCIL OF OREGON PROMOTES AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION THROUGH THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS.ADOPT-A-FARMER- PAIRING MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE PROGRAMS WITH FARMS OR RANCHES FOR THE ENTIRE ACADEMIC YEAR GIVES STUDENTS THE CHANCE TO SEE, HEAR, TOUCH, SMELL, AND TASTE WHAT LIFE IS LIKE ON THE FARM. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES FIELD TRIPS AND CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES FACILITATED BY THE FARMER/RANCHER THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR.ROAD CROP SIGNS- SIGNS HELP TRAVELERS IDENTIFY WHAT CROP IS GROWING OR THE BREED THAT IS BEING RAISED IN FIELDS ALONG ROADWAYS. SAFETY EDUCATION- COMMITTED TO PROVIDING AGRICULTURE WITH THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO CREATE A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT. I AM OREGON AGRICULTURE- A MULTIMEDIA EFFORT HIGHLIGHTING THE FACT THAT 98 PERCENT OF OREGON'S PRODUCERS ARE FAMILY FARMS. SAFETY EDUCATION TO PROVIDE OUR MEMBERS WITH THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO CREATE A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT.
