Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF THE MUSEUM AT WARM SPRINGS IS TO PRESERVE, ADVANCE AND SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CULTURAL, TRADITIONAL, AND ARTISTIC HERITAGE OF THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS. THE MUSEUM ACHIEVES THIS THROUGH EDUCATION, EXHIBITIONS, AND AWARENESS OF THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF WARM SPRINGS AND OTHER INDIGENOUS TRIBES.
The annual Seeds of Discovery science field day reached 252 4th Grade students from 6 Elementary Schools and 2 school districts. Ten volunteer scientist instructors and 9 assistants taught at the field stations. Demonstration stations were: Robotics A; Robotics B; Drones; Managing Forest; Trees and Life; Cultural Foods; OMSI Science Station; Atlatl Throw (the aero-dynamics of an ancient hunting tool); Fisheries; and the Hooks and Ladders game.
THE MUSEUM PRODUCED 4 EXHIBITS THROUGH 2019. THE SUMMER EXHIBIT WAS BASED ON THE BOARDING SCHOOL EXPERIENCE WITH THE PERSPECTIVE OF WARM SPRINGS TRIBAL MEMBERS. THE MUSEUM ALSO PRODUCED IT'S ANNUAL TRIBAL MEMBER ART SHOW AND TRIBAL YOUTH ART SHOW.
AUGUST 18 WAS THE COMBINATION OF THE HONOR DINNER AND HUCKLEBERRY HARVEST THAT BROUGHT IN OVER 200 PEOPLE. THE EVENT WAS HELD AT THE HIGH DESERT MUSEUM AND HONORED VIRGINIA BEAVERT AND HOWIE ARNETT. SPECIAL GUEST PHILLIP CASH CASH WAS PRESENT.
