TO CHANGE THE CONSERVATIVE NARRATIVE ON THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH INNOVATIVE EDUCATION, ACTIVISM AND OUTREACH.

EARTHX: IN 2019, ACC HOSTED ITS INAUGURAL 30 UNDER 30 AWARDS: THE GREEN GENERATION AWARDS, DURING THE EARTHX CONFERENCE. THIS AWARD WAS CREATED TO HONOR 30 YOUNG ENVIRONMENTAL PIONEERS FROM ALL SIDES OF THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM; THE FIRST EVENT OF ITS KIND, 30 UNDER 30. THE RECIPIENTS OF GREEN GENERATION 30 UNDER 30 BROUGHT THE RECIPIENTS TOGETHER FOR COLLABORATION AND OFFERED NETWORKING ACROSS INDUSTRIES AND POLITICAL AISLES, BRIDGE-BUILDING, AND DEEP DISCUSSIONS PULLING FROM EACH WINNER'S AREA OF EXPERTISE. THESE CONVERSATIONS HELPED PARTICIPANTS TO FIND COMMON GROUND AND TO CREATE A MORE UNIFIED ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT.

LEGISLATIVE OUTREACH: IN 2019, ACC GREW ITS POLITICAL PRESENCE THROUGH A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT INITIATIVES. ACC PRESIDENT BENJI BACKER TESTIFIED AT CONGRESS AS THE REPUBLICAN WITNESS AT A CLIMATE HEARING ALONGSIDE GRETA THUNBERG. ACC TOOK FREQUENT MEETINGS WITH THE DOE(DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY), DOI (DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR), COUNCIL ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, AND THE EPA (ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY), BECOMING THE FIRST ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION TO SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE EPA UNDER THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION. ACC ALSO SPENT TIME ADVOCATING ON BEHALF OF IMPORTANT PIECES OF LEGISLATION SUCH AS THE RESTORE OUR PARKS ACT, THE USE IT ACT, SAVE OUR SEAS 2.0 ACT, AND MANY OTHERS. FINALLY, ACC LAUNCHED A COALITION OF 40 COLLEGE REPUBLICAN STATE CHAIRPEOPLE IN SUPPORT OF CLEAN ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES. ACC ALSO WORKED WITH THE AUDUBON SOCIETY OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO HELP PASS THE ENERGY FREEDOM ACT IN SOUTH CAROLINA TO LIFT THE CAP ON NET-METERING ALLOWING FOR A MORE COMPETITIVE ENERGY MARKET AND MORE CONSUMER CHOICE.

MEMBERSHIP: IN 2019, ACC LAUNCHED ITS MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM ALLOWS OUR ACTIVISTS TO ADVOCATE FOR FREE-MARKET, LIMITED-GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENTALISM FROM ALL CORNERS OF THE COUNTRY, THROUGH CALL-TO-ACTION CAMPAIGNS, HOSTING EVENTS WITH HIGH PROFILE SPEAKERS, PUBLISHING OP-EDS, ETC. MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO EDUCATIONAL CONTENT, ACTIVISM KITS, AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMS, AND MEMBER-ONLY EVENTS. MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO GROW INTO POWERFUL ADVOCATES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. THIS BASE OF YOUNG LEADERS IS MOBILIZING LIKE NEVER BEFORE.
