Our Mission as part of a Catholic health care system is to further the healing ministry of Jesus by continually improving the health and well-being of all people, especially the poor, in the communities we serve.
To improve the health and well-being of all people in the communities we serve.
Part of Ascension Wisconsin, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Franklin opened in April 2008 and represents a model of care focused on health and wellness. Designed with healing in mind, the 275,000 square-foot hospital uses natural light and a serene environment to create a tranquil atmosphere and promote a feeling of peace. The hospital was built with sustainable and renewable resources in order to improve efficiency and reduce the negative impact on the environment. Nursing stations are located centrally to promote patient safety and reduce walking time for caregivers. The hospital also features a wireless network infrastructure benefiting both staff and visitors. State-of-the-art technology reduces human error in record keeping and prescriptions, improving patient safety and quality of care. Franklin Hospital consistently ranks high in patient satisfaction for inpatient services and emergency care. Our 52-licensed bed hospital, which includes a six-bed Intensive Care Unit, provides a full range of inpatient and day surgery services as well as: an 18-room Emergency Department; surgical services with gastroenterology/endoscopy suites; full-service imaging and interventional radiology; cardiac cath lab; physical therapy; lab and pharmacy. This hospital brings care closer to growing communities in southern Milwaukee County, providing convenience and cost-efficiency in care. In June 2013, the Franklin Hospital opened a 65,000 square foot medical office building on its campus that houses a full spectrum of primary care and specialist physician offices. Through the efforts of hospital staff, Franklin provides community outreach and support through mission integration activities of the mission committee. Efforts such as the Thanksgiving food drive, the Mission Closet or "Shoebox" gifts filled with Christmas toys provide an avenue for associates to actively help those in need.
