Organizations Filed Purposes: THE FARMORY IS AN URBAN AQUAPONCIS FARM AND FISH HATCHERY FOR SERVING THE PEOPLE OF WISCONSIN. OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE THAT BUILDS ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND IMPROVES HEALTH AND WELLBEING.

CREATE AN INDOOR MODEL OF AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION PROMOTING HEALTHY/SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS.

HATCHERY & FARMING: THE FARMORY UNDERWENT A BUILDOUT TO COMPLETE THEIR INDOOR BIOSECURE COMMERCIAL HATCHERY IN 2019. THIS CONSTRUCTION PROJECT STARTED IN 2019 AND WAS COMPLETED IN MARCH 2020. AS OF MARCH 2020, THE FARMORY'S FACILITY ACCEPTED PERCH EGGS TO HATCH OUT PERCH FINGERLINGS. THESE FINGERLINGS PROVIDE OUR MARKET WITH A LOCAL SOURCE OF BIOSECURE PERCH FINGERLINGS THAT ARE OTHERWISE UNAVAILALBE AND SUPPORTS OUR LOCAL FISH FARMERS AND CONSUMERS.AQUAPONICS: MAINTAINED OUR INNOVATIVE AQUAPONICS GROW SYSTEM IN TWO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS. USED OUR FARMING VOLUNTEER TEAM THAT HELPS WITH MAINTENANCE AND PRODUCTION TASKS TO FACILITATE CONTINUED EXPERIMENTING AND EVALUATING AGRICULTURE TECHNOLOGY OPTIONS FOR OUR GROWING SYSTEM IN COOPERATION WITH THESE LOCAL SCHOOLS.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING: THE FARMORY'S LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE ARE IMPLEMENTED THROUGH OUR SIGNATURE FARMORYWORKS PROGRAM ACTIVITIES. FARMORYWORKS SUPPORTS THE SCHOOL TO CAREER PIPELINES FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS THROUGH A NUMBER OF OPPORTUNITIES. OUR SIGNATURE FARMORYWORKS AQUACULTURE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM PROVIDES ADULT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WITH A 12 WEEK INTENSIVE TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS AND A HANDS-ON SERVICE LEARNING COMPONENT WHERE THEY GET REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE IN OUR STATE OF THE ART YELLOW PERCH FISH HATCHERY.THE FARMORYWORKS ENTREPRENEUER PROGRAM PROVIDES ADULT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS WITH A SUPPORTIVE ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS LOOKING TO START OR EXPAND A BUSINESS IN WISCONSIN AQUACULTURE OR AQUAPONICS.THE FARMORYWORKS K-12 PROGRAM PROVIDES FIELD TRIP KITS FOR BOTH VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON LEARNING OF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE CONCEPTS RELATED TO AQUACULTURE, AQUAPONICS AND NUTRITION.
